Oligarkh started as an anonymous project, with the artists’ identities kept hidden. Oligarkh’s debut album, Zemlya i Volya (Russian: Земля и воля, lit. ‘Land and Freedom’), was released in December 2013.
In February 2016, Oligarkh released their second album, Anatoly (Russian: «Анатолий»). In the fall of 2016, Oligarkh went on their first European tour, titled «Erases the Borders.» They performed in Latvia, Austria, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, and Poland.
In February 2017, they released the EP Vstan i Idi (Russian: «Встань и иди», lit. ‘Stand Up and Go’). In May 2017, they performed in London for the first time. In August 2017, they performed at the Pop-Kultur Festival in Berlin for the second time.
In July 2020, Oligarkh and Gryaz released the song «Drug» (Russian: «Друг», lit. ‘Friend’), which quotes Vladimir Vysotsky. In September 2020, Oligarkh released a cover of «Moya Oborona» (Russian: «Моя оборона», lit. ‘My Defense’), originally by Grazhdanskaya Oborona. In December 2020, Oligarkh, MSTR.FREI, and Yura Muzychenko released a cover of «Zudwa», originally by Chimera.
